Eden-Tal

Places to explore

There’s plenty to discover at a gentler pace, with history, art and nature all close at hand:

St Oswald’s Church – with its unusual layout and fascinating Gilbertine monastic ruins

Scar Gallery – a small and characterful gallery, exhibitions are renewed every 3 months so there's always something new

Piper Hole Goat Farm – home to delightful wildflower meadows just down the road, especially beautiful in late spring and summer

Village walks – a network of footpaths and bridleways offering a variety of short circular walks straight from the doorstep

Places to eat

Ravenstonedale is home to two characterful pubs and a small tearoom, all well worth a visit. You’ll be warmly welcomed for traditional, tasty pub fare at The King’s Head, fine dining at The Black Swan, and scrumptious cakes at The Scar Gallery - perfect after a gentle stroll around the village before heading home to The Green.

Places to play

For something a little more active, there are several easy, low-key options right in the village:

Riverside Golf Course – a beautiful 9-hole, pay-and-play course.

Tennis Court – a free-to-use village court, perfect for a casual game

Children’s Play Area & Scandal Beck - a lovely spot for families, with the beck running alongside - ideal for picnics while the children play or paddle
