All family members are warmly welcomeD
Without them, it wouldn’t be the same. Dogs are very much part of the family, and they’re warmly welcomed as our valued guests. Whether yours is energetic and mud-loving, or happiest curled up by the fire after a gentle walk, you’ll find this is a place where they can truly settle in.
We’re surrounded by open countryside, quiet lanes and endless footpaths, ideal for exploring at your own pace. After a day outdoors, the cottages are designed to make life with a dog easy, practical tiled floors with underfloor heating for warm paws, minimal carpets, and sturdy wooden stairs with dog gates available for added peace of mind.
We want every guest, both two-legged and four-legged, to enjoy a comfortable stay. To help keep the cottages fresh and welcoming for everyone, particularly guests with allergies, we ask that dogs are not allowed in bedrooms or on beds. We know every dog has different habits at home, so we recommend bringing their own bed or favourite blanket to help them settle in comfortably. If your dog normally enjoys the sofa at home, please bring suitable throws or blankets to protect the furnishings during your stay.
Each property has its own private, enclosed courtyard garden with fencing of around 4ft, giving you a secure space to relax together. There’s our open Fellside garden area and our larger Beckside garden, enclosed with 4ft boundaries offering a lovely spot for a wander or a quiet sit by the water.
At the same time, this is a working rural area, home to wildlife, livestock and ground-nesting birds. We ask all guests to follow the countryside code and keep dogs under close control, particularly around sheep, and during sensitive times of year. A few simple precautions help protect this special place - and ensure it remains just as welcoming for future visitors and their dogs.
To make their stay feel home from home, we’ve put together a small doggy welcome basket with a few thoughtful essentials to make their stay truly special.
Our welcome basket includes;
-
a plastic dog bed (please bring your own bedding)
-
dog treats and toys
-
a water bowl and feeding mat
-
dog towels
-
dog waste bins and bags
