Sustainability
Living sustainably and being kinder to the planet is something we have all become more aware of in the past few years. There is a lot of information on this topic accessible to everyone now, more than ever before, and we can all make small changes to the way we live our lives.

Here at The Green Cumbria sustainability is much more to us than swapping a few cleaning products. We are on a journey to explore many more sustainable ways to operate our business which include everything from renewable energy solutions, ethical purchasing, staff training, enhancing customer wellbeing, methods of transport that guests use to get here and promoting biodiversity.
​
We also aim to make a regular contribution towards local projects. For 2022 we donated £10 from each full week booking towards tree planting in the Yorkshire Dales via the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
We already have several sustainable systems in place such as our ground source heat pumps for heating & hot water, solar panels and private bore hole along with smaller items such as compostable kitchen items and local produce in our welcome packs. However, these are just the beginning and we are very excited about a more sustainable future. Small changes can lead to big results and we have lots of ideas.
