Our Story
Richard and Carly - A story of adventure, a love of property and the outdoors.
As avid travellers to the Uplands of Northern England, particularly the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, a seed was sown many years ago about living in the countryside and having a holiday let property which would allow us to share our love of nature and the outdoors with guests.

We discovered The Green in 2020 and it was a delight to meet the previous owners, who several years earlier spent two years, lots of time and energy converting their original stone barn into three holiday homes you see today; together with the support of a local architect and craftsmen.
Carly has always had a passion for renovating houses and interior design.
Over the years she has worked on many renovation projects including our own homes, but she wanted The Green to be different - to be a place in which guests can immerse themselves in the surrounding area and relax in the cosy nature inspired interiors.

Richard’s love for the mountains and the great outdoors has grown over the years and attaining his Mountain Leader qualification in 2019 seemed to go hand in hand with our move to Cumbria. Being at the foot of the fabulous Howgill Fells and within the Yorkshire Dales National Park means he is able to take guests out for memorable days in the hills. He is passionate about the outdoors and he takes every opportunity he can to share this with others.
